The CriticalRawMaterials Act is a new legislation aims to secure the supply of essential raw materials for EU industries while promoting sustainable sourcing and Responsible Mining practices.

As we all know, access to RawMaterials is crucial for the success of many businesses, especially in the technology, automotive, and renewable energy sectors.

However, the increasing global demand and limited supply of some critical raw materials have raised concerns about the EU’s dependence on imports and the potential risks to the industry’s competitiveness.

The Critical Raw Materials Act sets out a list of 30 raw materials considered essential for the EU’s economy and transition to a greener, more digitalised future.

The act aims to strengthen the EU’s resilience and strategic autonomy by ensuring the availability of these materials, reducing waste and promoting recycling, and supporting innovation and new business models.

The RAWMINA Project has a role to play in supporting the implementation of this act and contributing to a more sustainable and competitive European industry.
